The best shoe for Zumba!!
I have been a Zumba instructor for over 2 years and had experiment with many different types of dance shoes, going from horrible pain in my heel to lack of comfort until finally finding Ryka, Downbeat. I will never change, I buy a half size bigger than my normal shoe and use extra insoles since I teach 6 times a week and my classes are high intensity, this shoe has the support you need, it protects your ankles and it has the perfect pivot point for the turns. Love them!!!This is my third pair. :)

Excellent shoe
I teach Jazzercise classes and wear only Ryka shoes in class. I absolutely love this style. It's very lightweight but provides good support when working out. The strap across the top of the foot creates a really snug fit. I have small, narrow feet so it's not easy to find shoes that fit well. Rykas always fit but this style is even better than the others I've worn. I'm purchasing additional pairs because the Ryka styles change often and I want to have these for as long as possible.

Just got these in the Black/Purple combo. Have to say I was surprised how much smaller Ryka's size 9 is in this style, I have the Studio Flex Low and that was a much bigger 9. Considering this is hi-cut and has a strap across the forefoot you'd think it would be bulkier but it's very steamlined looking and the toe is much pointy-er than pictured. One thing too is it's a very lightweight shoe due to it's Ortholite material.
As to fit, it's a snug fit for now, but not in a bad way, hope to break it in some more and loosen it up as it's still kind of stiff. Since I haven't used it for any group class yet, particularly Zumba, I can't rate it yet as to comfort or performance, will get to that when I do, hence the initial review. For now, I like it's looks, pretty funky and light on the feet.

Well I dunno why it took me long enough to try these out for Zumba, cos these are perfect! Lightweight and goes through all those twists and turns with such...
