Nicely Made Shoe but Not Right for Every Foot
While I have to agree that these were ready to wear and did not need the same kind of breaking in as some other sneakers, I do have a problem with this shoe.
The theory is great but the extra thick sole, especially in the middle of the shoe creates a convex walking surface. This means that instead of having a cut out at your arch, there is a thick bump to walk on in the middle of your foot. The problem for me is that my arch cramps up while walking. This sometimes makes me walk on the outside or inside surface of the shoe.
I know this won't be a popular review because these sneakers are so well liked but for me, they are difficult to wear -- although I'm not giving up yet.

Sketches shape ups for plantar fasciitis
My wife loves these shoes. She has plantar fasciitis and her feet have not felt this good in years.

I've been buying shape-ups for close to 2 years and still love them! I am on my feet at work for 10 hours a day and my legs aren't as tired at the end of the day like in other shoes. I wear the black ones to work and save the others for my off time. Try them, you won't want to wear anything else.
